    >Do you get the Kasuti net in Bangalore(that is where you live. isn't it?). What exactly is it called -Calico net? Some one told me that mosquito net can also be used.

I want to practise this technic. I know it thearetically as I stitched a little long back and need to practise this before I put it on my saree. Can you please guide me in this?

    Does any one know where to get this?

    Hi Shailaja and Sakidran

    Thanks for the compliments. I am also replying to Shailaja's query about the net used. It is the Calico mosquito net which is square I mean each mesh must be square. The trick is to use a measuring tape and check that the number of meshes per inch in the warp and weft is the same. A count of 13 in one and maybe 14 in the other is also acceptable. The design is done in the centre and then the mesh is removed. It is made by Calico mills and hence the name. You could see the thread by Lata on Saris of India where I have posted on the background of Kasuthi. I have not come across any number mentioned for the net. I will try to upload a clearer pic later. Thanks again
