My friend and I are not sure of the name but think that it could be Dinkar's but you could ask anybody on Avenue rd and they will guide you. It is kind of hard to miss
My friend in Chennai has acquired this new craze for clay modeling. She is feverishly, desperately, frantically looking for some shop in Chennai which sells clay (not plasticine though). Can anybody help here?
If your friend is looking for red clay ( potter's clay), then she should go to a potter's colony where clay items such are made. The clay used for pottery or modeling is processed clay (i.e. granular elements are removed and the clay is brought to a consistency that affords easy handling for moulding). She will not be able to get this anywhere else.
They may charge you anywhere between Rs. 70 -100 for half a gunny sack. this clay cannot be stored for very long as it tends to dry soon. Should be used within a week or atmost within 10 days depending on the temperature and climate where you live. Keep a wet cloth on the gunny sack to slow down the process of hardening of unused clay.
I did'nt realise that you were in Bangalore. Please go to Pottery Town (in between Benson Town and Tannery Road Circle. Anybody will guide you there.) And please don't pay more than Rs. 60 - 70 for half a gunny sack. That is the rate in Bangalore.

The best place to shop for all embroidery materials is "Raja Market" in Chickpet.
you will get good quality matrial for wholesale price. Tough you get all the embroidery materials in Commercial street what i found was there were little expensive than wat we get in raja market.
