Embroidery : Suggestions for work on Saree

Hi IL art lovers,
I have a plain crape cloth around 6 .5 meters, Onion color exactly (Cost of 1 m=225/-)
As I am not much into this stuff, Im a bit confused whether to keep it as it is and wear a plain saree with a designed blouse, or with full work,
Another option is to go and make it as a salwar, and again do some stuff on it
I am not sure whther to go for embroidery or any jardosi or painting on it.

Please suggest me if you have done anything earlier on crape and whch looks decent look too.

I'm Kaumudi, happened to see your post. I suggest that you Fabric paint Pink roses & give a 3D glitter glue outline around the flower with red fevicryl 3D outliner. You could do the same in green with the few leaves that you would paint near the flower.

But when I toook this to one of the fabric painter, she told tht painting doesn't suit to this type of cloth.
Any other suggestion pls.

Hi proya, i think you can go for bullion rose stitch embroidery with nice design and good threads which goes with onion color.

And for design and ideas about this stitch and embriodery just have a look at all the threads in this forum. There are lot of works posted by our dear Ilites!

If u are good in doing embroidery do some simple work. mirror work , kutch work or bullion roses.

In hyd we have plenty of designers who do wonderful embroidery.

u can even get painting work or block printing done .

Otherwise lot of designer blouses are available . u can wear the plain saree & printed blouse.

You can make a nice salwar suit out of the material with Zardosi work on it, It will look good,

If you are opting for saree, then go for thin zari embroidery on the pallav and Pleats. I have a onion colour Crepe Saree with Zari embroidery.

You can match up with a blouse with zari work done on the sleeves and neck line.

Crepe tends to stand like the tent on your body, so be sure you not too fat, else it gives a plump look.
