hi freinds;
i want to crochet a table mat in the form of a circle.but when i do it and finish a round,it turns out to bend like a topi.i think it depends on taking number of loops and chains.
if anybodu know, can you instruct me on how many chains to take in the starting and make a loop and further proceed?

Hi!

I cannot, unfortunately, help you with the number of chains etc., because I can crochet only following instructions. But with past experience I have found that:

1. You have to may be change hook size. Each hand has different tension, as you know.
2. As and when you proceed with the rounds lay it flat on a table and see if it is flat. If it is not then in the next round increase a treble or any other stitch to give it a bit of stretch.

I hope other experienced crocheters will give more tips.
