Paintings : Gem painting

Hello friends,

Came across a picture of gem painting recently. Gemstone Paintings are created using various Semi-Precious Gemstones skillfully ground, crushed into thinner powder and arranged by hand to capture color variations and soothing visual effects.

We have a galaxy of creative ILites and I just wanted to find out if there is anyone who knows how to do it or could even tell me how it is done.

i had not posted the picture of the Gem stone painting earlier.I got these as gifts from a friend. Since then I have been looking everywhere to learn more about this kind of painting. Hope someone can enlighten me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May be we have to crush the gemstones draw an outline and then fill it with this powder.i believe...i am not sure though

Hi Virajitha,

I have so far learnt that powdered gemstone has to be mixed with some glue and liquid acrylic medium and painted with a brush. Still not completely sure with the process. Did not find much after googling. Good luck to you!!!! Will share more as I learn more.
