Hi subha,

If you are talking about the woolen garlands you see in khadi and all..it is actually they are looped as flowers and then collected on a thread to make them garland

I have never tried garlands..but this is an small idea...make pompoms in small size..of ofwhite..and maroons..more of off white colours.and then loop them in a string in a pattern..and make a big pompom to make the centre...maybe it will work out as a garland..

or you could ask your people who are coming to assist you to bring the ready made artificial jasmine garlands you get these days..they will look kind of real also.

Dear Subha,
I am attaching the photo. Where in I prepared a woolen thoranam to my pujaroom entrace. Likewise you can prepare one woolen malai for your function. See the make your own flower written by ashu in this thread. Likewise prepare double colour woolen flowers. Take a needle and put one woolen flower and then a small bead. The bead will not be visible but gives space between two flowers. Like wise you can do thick as per your requirement and imagination mala made by woolen.
At your place in a craft shop woollen thread is very well available and beads also. (even in walmart). So go ahead. After preparing show in this thread. We will happy sharing your malai.
All the best.

Hai Subha,
Take a wollen thread and wind it 5 or 6 times on your finger.remove carefully from finger and tie it in the centre. You will get a small flower.Do 100 nos or require nos like this in 2 colours.
then take a needle with wire and first put one flower and then a small bead and then one flower like wise made a mala.
Like wise make 3 or 5 malas. The malas will be thin because the flowers are thin.
Now join the 3 or 5 mala according to your requirement tieing them at the end
Are you able to understand? Or else ask me doubt. I will give the individual flowers photo so that you can do.
