| Hi all Do anyone know how to crochet a thick chain (மாலை) using woollen thread ? I have my seemandham function in the month of may and we dont have flowers orமாலை here....They are very costly...So thought of wearing it in woollen.... |

| Hi subha, If you are talking about the woolen garlands you see in khadi and all..it is actually they are looped as flowers and then collected on a thread to make them garland I have never tried garlands..but this is an small idea...make pompoms in small size..of ofwhite..and maroons..more of off white colours.and then loop them in a string in a pattern..and make a big pompom to make the centre...maybe it will work out as a garland.. or you could ask your people who are coming to assist you to bring the ready made artificial jasmine garlands you get these days..they will look kind of real also.

| Hi Shanthi Thank you soo much... Its a good idea...let me try. |

| Hai Subha, Take a wollen thread and wind it 5 or 6 times on your finger.remove carefully from finger and tie it in the centre. You will get a small flower.Do 100 nos or require nos like this in 2 colours. then take a needle with wire and first put one flower and then a small bead and then one flower like wise made a mala. Like wise make 3 or 5 malas. The malas will be thin because the flowers are thin. Now join the 3 or 5 mala according to your requirement tieing them at the end Are you able to understand? Or else ask me doubt. I will give the individual flowers photo so that you can do. viji |
