hi vidhu,
You seem to be a great artist and in all forms of art. You mother's embroidery is exquisite. Keep posting more. Did you learn all these forms or with one form of painting knowledge you started doing others too?
regards,
uma
Hi Sunkan,
your collection is very good. I liked the fish as it is different.

hi vidya...what colors are used for madhubani..i have heard indian ink colors?it seems madhubani paintings need gaudy colors and we use markers too for the purpose?what brush is used?000?or 00?the lines should be very thin?

Hi mitu sharma,
Madhubani painting is one of the typical Indian tribal paintings which means they use only natural products like cowdung (for background), rice flour for whites & other veg dyes on walls. since we are facinated by the designs our choice of paint is guided by the material we use on.
ON fabric & canvas use fabric paint, on paper any other colour can be used. again if you are comfortable with 000 it is fine otherwise pens could also used for outlines. Thats the way it is. Happy trying.

Hi,
Very good works. I am in love with Madhubani painting. Though looks simple but needs lot of ideas of coloring to do it. I just love its attractive designs. Thank you for posting the instructions. I have one more question, where do you get patterns for the painting. Please suggest some sites or links which has good patterns. If this is free hand design by you, then

Thanks nags for your kind words, I doubt if you can get too many pictures from web sites. one or two may be there. We get a couple of madhubani design books here.
Here's one more of my creation.
