hi archu,
By "without foot" I was referring to aksh's reference of darning foot. We are provided with different types of foots like darning, zipper, pico & a plastic one for fixing buttons etc.
while working with delicate materials like chiffon you must be very careful in stretching the material in the ring. I prefer zig zags to fill designs on such materials. cheers

Hi tom & jerry,
thanks for the appreciation. the peacock is actually a mixed media. first I did the outline with zigzig stitch. then the tail was free hand straight st, then painted the body & attached sequins & stones where required... simple isn't it ?

Hi Vidu
I am new to IL and I had a look at your works, they are just awesome!!!! I have been inspired by you and respect your work a lot. I have a few questions to ask you and would be very thankful to u to answer them.
- How long did u take to do the yoke design on kurta (the neck design) I mean how many hours in a day you worked on it to complete it. It is machine embroidery right?
- Second question is about sewing machine as I am planning to buy one... I have heard people telling that we cannot use a sewing machine for both stitching and embroidery, we should use it only for one purpose, is it true? Does it get spoiled soon if we keep changing?
- And I have heard people saying internal motor sewing machines are a little bit problematic is it true? What do you feel?

According to your experience what do u feel vidu? Your suggestion might help me in deciding which kind of machine to buy. I have read your previous posts.

Thank you...
