| [quote=Orange;235894] My doubt: I have a Canon Powershop A530 / 5.0 mega pixels - My indoor photographs contains a lot of GRAINS, especially at the background (during a party sessions) Can any one explain ? Is it due to poor lightings in the party hall ? Which could be the appropriate setting ? Pleaze Help! And also abt the "Red Eye Reduction" selection.)[quote] The angle of the lighting induces lot of grains in the background. regarding reducing red eye, your cam modes help a little. but red eye is mainly caused when u use flash in a dark environment as the eye of the subject reflects the light from the flash. Though there is an inbuilt anti red eye function is available, it does not guarantee full reduction. to avoid you can take more snaps in the same position reason, the first snap tends to have more reflection and later the eyes of the subject adjusts, thus reducing. there is one technique i follow. To just place a piece of tissue paper on the flash so that it does not go and hit the eye of the s ubject. ![]() The easiest of course is to ask the subject not to look into the camera, a little angle helps... ![]() If after all this i still have a red eye, i use the editor available with the the software to blacken it.... (I use a canon ixus, and a very old yashica)

| Orange, Photography is an art like any other. It has no gender bias. The are a few things to be learnt or developed however to enjoy the hobby. They are: 1) a keen eye for capturing anything that tells a story or illustrates an idea. 2) patience to understand the working of a camera ( especially Digital SLR's) 3) the physics of light and shade 4) aesthetic framing (not photo framing) or cropping of the picture to deliver maximum impact to the viewer. I too have started photography very recently and have been shooting with a Digital SLR. Its great fun. I will be posting my pics soon in my profile. cheers Umesh |
