Hai Praveena,

U will get plain chudi material from Paris, godown street. Because i got plain sari for painting from their only. It is near the Saravana Bhavan in Paris corner. If u ask the auto wala for godown street they will take you. That street is only for dress, saris etc.

just have a try.

Praveena
hi praveena
lot of plain materials are available in Pothy's ground floor ,t nagr or even in egmore streets.u can select any of your choice and get it stitched according to ur taste. then do the work on it.If you are very much particular about getting stitched plain cotton tops/bottoms,that will be availble in lifestyle - either in City centre or in Spencers, but of couse bit costly

Thumbs down re: Paintings : Fabric Painting Materials

hey better purchase a plain saree of ur choice. stitch in ur fittings and then start painting.. ready mades will not have correct size that out fit to u. a plain saree hardly costs around 150- 300 and stitching charges hardly Rs.100/-(maximum). thats it. and u can have a designer chunni(dupatta) and even paint on that. else purchase a netted chunni hang some muvvalu(sounding pearls that wil be like the sounding comes from our anklets).
it really looks awsome.. try it..

hi all

its quite a long time since logging in...got a bit busy

well,i too buy salwar materials..mix and match varieties, mostly
i hardly buy the sets...

also i always buy materials and stitch in on my own
i usually buy at RMKV at usman road,in the basement
usually if you want plain cloth of your choice...you get to them in the basement of almost all the big shops in chennai...you should ask for 'running material'

recently i bought 3 colours of plain cotton material,i prefer only cotton, you can get the material of your choice though

also there are cotton materials available for as low as RS200 ,yes you have read the figures right,at saravana stores near RMKV,on the second floor...in the front, theres full set of kameez, salwar and dupatta...really worth its price...
the kameez is mostly plain or self designed
try it...if you love cottons

i stitched it and painted, embroidered, stitched ready made laces etc,to match with the bottoms and dupatta i already have
those have come out really very well...and they are exclusive too..
you can try
i will upload pics ofsome of my self designed chudithars very soon, when i can...

happy shopping...
bye
sanravi
