| Hi friends, sorry to came up with this post, but it seems most of the recipe articles are for low fat, & unfortunately I am looking for some High blood pressure friendly recipes. I did few searches over Google & yahoo, but no success. so can you give me some recipe or any book from which I can control my blood pressure.it will be highly appreciated please let me know Regards, Michael

As far I know If you add less table salt or no salt then it becomes a high BP 'friendly' diet.. As the common salt sodium chloride helps in activation of an enzyme ACE which converts Angiotensinogen to its biologically active form Angiotensin which inturn will have its effect on pressure or baroreceptors and increase BP. Hence generally the meds prescribed for high BP would be Ace Inhibitors if you would have notice (you have not mentioned whether you belong to high BP category) If you reduce table salt intake or literally take no table salt it becomes a high BP diet.. suggested veggies for you will be Cauliflower as it inhibits salt intake Broccoli rich in antioxidants carrots If you a non-vegetarian (i do not know) kindly avoid eggs and organ meats as they contain more fat and salt.. all the best Lk |
