Dear Padma,

No pneumonia is not a fatal disease if it is treated properly. A person suffering from Pneumonia needs to follow proper medication he/she will be completely cured.

Hope this helps your query.

Regards,
Devika

Dear Padma,

I am very sorry about your loss. Please accept my heartfelt condolence. I guess her casr would have been a very acute one. Sometimes its difficult to detect but if it is treated on time then there is a good possibility of a complete cure.
I can understand your loss.May her soul rest in peace!

Love,
Devika

Dear Padma,

Very sorry to hear about your dear sister.

Six years ago my husband was hospitalised with a severe condition called COPD .......chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder. He was in ICU for 10 days and put on steroids for 6 months. The main culprit was his chain smoking. He recovered
fully and gave up smoking after this bitter experience.
As he is a diabetic, the doctor advised him to take preventive measures to arrest further episodes of COPD due to other infections ...even a simple cold will be harmful.
According to his instructions he has been given a vaccine called PNEUMOCOCCO .....the pulmonologists will advise.......
which gives protection against pneumonia developing among eldery people.
It's efficacy is valid for 5 years. It is a French vaccine and is available in Chennai. It must be available all over India .
Thought of sharing this useful info.
warm regards
PAULINA
