    Hi Members

    For quite sometime I was pondering over the idea of starting a thread where the members can provide their suggestions with respect to food and good habits for healthy lifestyle. It may be basic , but may be very valuable, so pls feel free to share !

    First Tip from my side :
    Don' t Cross legs while sitting : It causes back pain ,Vericose n Spider Veins

    I use olive oil for cooking.We all know that olive oil is one of the best oil to be used for cooking.But what people dont know is it should not be used for frying as it has a lower smoke point.

    Then many a times i have seen people frying the vegetables and eating them for example carrots.Now carrots have good amount of Vitamin A which is oil soluble.So if you fry carrots the vitamin A is actually lost unless u take the oil in which it is fried.So what's the use frying it.

    Now in our everyday curries we use mustard seeds.Some say they are fried to get that spicy smell and flavor .theres more to those small seeds than just flavor.Well mustard seeds have omega 3 and 6 fatty acids and thats a good news for vegetarians who don't eat fish.It also has many other health benefits...so next time dont forget to add the 'tarka' to your curries.

    Always have fruits before food,as fruits require less time to digest.So if you eat fruits after food the fruits tend to remain in your digestive tract longer causing fermentation which in turns causes gas and bloating.

    Dangerous acts after meal

    Don’t drink tea—— Because tea leaves contain a high content of acid. This substance will cause the protein content in the food we consume to be hundred thus difficult to digest.

    Don’t loosen your belt———- Loosening the belt after meal will easily cause the intestine to be twisted and blocked.

    Don’t walk about———- — People always say that after a meal walk a hundred steps and you will live till 99. In actual fact this is not true. Walking will cause the digestive system to be unable to absorb the nutrition from the food we intake

    Dinny nice to know about mustard... Mustard also helps in digestion...

    Dont drink water immideately after meal it dilutes saliva...

    Healthy lifestyle is not eating healthy, exercise but also to get into it. Positive thinking, don’t be embrace for good health, pour salt on wound, keep remember your good memories, take a step in right direction, and laughter is the best medicine for healthy lifestyle.

    My tip is that never miss your breakfast . even if you are very busy, a glass of milk or some fresh fruit is OK but having a good healthy breakfast can help us stay healthy.
    Second instead of having fruit juice opt for whole fruit like eat a apple or orange in place of juice as it gives lot of healthy fiber also and do avoid packaged juice they are just empty calories.
