Smile What is your cooking oil?

Dear All,

There are many different types of oils used in cooking. The various types of oils best used are as follows:
  • Coconut Oil from Coconuts
  • Corn Oil from Corn
  • Olive Oil from Olives
  • Peanut Oil from Peanuts
  • Safflower Oil from Safflower seeds
  • Sesame Oil from Sesame seeds
  • Sunflower Oil from Sunflower seeds
  • Walnut Oil from Walnuts
  • Gingelly oil
  • Rice Bran oil
There are different brands for each of these oil. For e.g. Gold Winner sunflower oil, Idhayam Gingelly oil, Poorna Rice Bran oil, Saffola, Sundrop. etc..

And here the questions for you all and share your valuable response here with us.

What is your cooking oil? and which are most healthy for you? What is your brand preference?

Smile Re: What is your cooking oil?

we use Sundrop Heart - which is claimed to be a mix of sunflower and rice bran oil.

we had switched from pure sunflower oil to this one as we feel that this is more healthy with good fats.

Nice thread to come up with and a healthy discussion
So I am the first one here right?
I prefer coconut oil for most purposes. mostly oil is prepared from coconuts that are dried at home. Or else I prefer Parachute coconut oil.
For deep frying or such major uses I also use Coroli Corn Oil.

Hi,
I use refined ground nut oil, RRO Premio, formerly Postman. I find that this oil does not become sticky and is light. I also use gingely oil for making dosa and for some kuzhambus etc. Coconut oil for Kerala dishes.

I never use one oil continously (coz i read it some where our body gets adapted to it)
One time Rice Bran oil, the next oil would be Corn oil, next sunflower oil now and then Gingely oil..

Rarely Groundnut oil,Seaseme Oil
