Pure protein sources that are veg are very few. By pure I mean those that provide a large amount of protein but lesser amount of carbs. These would be

1. Paneer
2. Soya Nutrella Chunks
3. Cheese
4. Cottage Cheese
5. Nuts - Almonds and Walnuts are best.

I supplement with pure protein shakes. If you are in US, these can be found at trader's joe or on amazon.com. each can has either 17 gms or 35 gms of protein. I like the frosty chocolate flavor the best.

Apart from the above, foods below have high protein, but they also have a large amount of carbs.

1. All beans - red kidney beans, black beans, pinto beans, chick peas etc
2. Chana daal
3. Sprouts
4. Orowheat double fiber wheat bread
5. Mission Brand Carb Control Tortillas (found at grocery store, net 5 gms of carbs and very very yummy)
6. Yogurt/Kefir/Buttermilk

You are welcome RG! If you are in the conception process and hence the need for protein, I'd suggest eating lots of nuts and seeds such as sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, almonds, walnuts etc. Try not to overdo the milk products. 2-3 glasses of milk are ok per day, not more than that. eat organic eggs if you can and lots of sprouts and fresh organic veggies.
