hello Sindhu

People who are careful about their diet should not have calcium deficiency. It is a good news for vegetarians that all their calcium needs can be meat by vegetarian diet.
Foods rich in calcium are
MILK, YOGURT, CHEESE
Chinese cabbage, kale, broccoli, pumpkin
fruit juices fortified with calcium

Everyday if you consume a cup of milk, an ounce of cheese and one cup yogurt it should provide sufficient amount of calcium.
You can take calcium tablets everyday. Total 1000mg can be taken in two divided doses. Take them with meals. avoid taking it with other medicines.
excess coffee or tea or alcohol consumption hampers calcium absorption.
Vitamin D is very important for calcium absorption and best source for it is sunlight.

Hi Reshma,

The best shortcut that you can take is have fruits like banana, apple or oranges. Grapes are also good. You can also carry some mix dry fruits and nimbu pani. IF you like honey make nimbu pani with honey or another alternative is soak jaggery overnight add some lime juice and carry this with you to work. This is also very healthy. But don't keep this outside for too long otherwise it will turn sour. If there is fridge in your office then keep it in the fridge.

Identify a time when you are hungry or if you can have small meals every 3 hrs then you can also keep khakhra in your office drawer and have it with tea.

So as not to get bored up with the same food, have a different fruit each day, like apple on day one, banana the next, chikoo on the 3rd, oranges on the fourth, dry fruits on the 5th etc. This way your fibre intake will also increase and inturn it will be good for digestion.

Sorry, i think this query had been posted for Dr. Madhavi...but i couldn't help replying to this.

Warm regards
Roopa.

Hello Dr.Madhavi

We started planning for pregnany from last year, then got pregnant this year with the IUI procedure, everything went fine till 10th week then the foetus hearbeat was stopped, so I got D&E procedure done.

Now, when trying for pregnancy again, doctors found I have a Cyst in my left ovary and it is there for the past 3 months without change in size. They are advising to start IUI procedure again with the cyst. Doctor says the cyst would hinder me to get pregnant but the chances of affecting the baby once pregnant would be less than 1%.

I am doing lot of prayers with Garbarakshambikai and all known god.

Please let me know is it safe to go ahead with IUI having cyst? I am totally confused. Any suggestion please???

Thanks
Sandy

Looking after your health specially if you are working and tired is essential. Rupa has given you good advice. beside that, keep tetra pack of soy milk, yogurt, Lassi that will take care of protein needs. keep fruits in your purse.
Microwave lot of vegetables and add lime and chatmasala to eat. if you are non vegetarian you can add salami, eggs or boiled chicken. The point is whatever you eat remember to add proteins, fruits and salads. take small frequent meals.

taking multivitamins will not give any problems but it is no substitute for balanced diet. take good diet.

Hi gauri
your wt gain could be because of thyroid. TSH at your values is not very alarming but high. Continue with your medicines under docs supervision. best way to reduce wt is remain to remain active
30-40 minutes of brisk walk or aerobics at least 5 times a week.
take stairs instead of lift. take alonger route to your house.
reduce your fat intake- cut back oil, butter and fried stuff
reduce sugar intake
you can take rice everyday just reduce the amount and add one chapati.
have a good day

Sandy you haven't told me your age. if you are less than thirty then you should go for treatment of cyst because that shd not be difficult. I do not know for how long have you been married and why u are trying IUI. Simple cyst should be easy to treat.
