Queries To Dr Madhavi

Dear Dr. Madhavi,

Iam aged 36yrs having two daughters aged 12 & 7yrs. During my I preganancy, I was on lot of hormones as I had a threatened abortion. I added on lot of weight from 55kg to 75kg. But after my delivery started lot of problems. I had an IUCD inserted but started heavy and long periods with low back pain. After almost 2 yrs the IUCD was removed. I could not conceive again for almost 2 years after that i had one girl and had my tubectomy done. Now my problem is I have heavy & prolonged cycle lot of facial hairs. Done all thyroid, hormone, DNC test done. Everything has come normal. Due to this my HB is getting low (9 gms) and iam intolerant to oral iron in any form. After scanning, drs have said there is a cyst in my ovary and I need to get a hysterectomy done after the age of 40. I am not able to reduce my weight also. Iam frustrated with this monthly problem. Kindly help

I'm using Ovarol L for the past two years. The gynec who suggested this tablets told me that this is the safest contraceptive. I have pco also. So periods are very irregular even after my child birth. Because of Ovaral only, I'm getting regular periods. But the pharmacist friend of mine says ovarol is not good for health. so he asked me to stop that.
I'm in big confusion. pls help me. I'm not having any problems with that tablet.no side effects for me. What shall I do now?

Why do you listen to a pharmacist or anyone who doesn't know about diseases? He is not a qualified person to tell you about treatments. do as your gynec says. she is right.

Dear Dr Malathy
What will happen if I use Ovral l for long time? Already I'm on the fatter side only. Suggest me to how to reduce the weight. I'm eating only salads and buttermilk with little rice.

1. will product like fruit plup, fresh fruitjuice, tang.. etc.. help 2 improve calcium
2. for joint pains, back aches, etc... will tis diet as u suggested 'll help...
3. as once d joints got damage thy create pain... can it b over come ... any other alternatives...

i am working aged 42 years and staying in Bangalore for t he past 2 years and shifted from Delhi. I am over weigh t and have cholestrol . for choelstrol I am n ot takin g medicines and trying to control naturally Earleir i used to go for a walk in the morning and had control in diet also . now because of summer i feel very tired and always want to lie down and after working for 2 -3 jours i feel very tired . i was advsied by Doctor to check sugar . I checked my Random sugar and it was 98 and now doctor has told to drink plenty of fluids . and no medcine has been given Now I started drinking lot of water and have less appetite . To reduce weight I thought lot of plans but in the morning i am not able to go for walking and get up only at 6.30 am I took rest for 1 week and after that i have joined office . Now also i feel very tired and doesn't feel doing any work other than cooking washing etc . whcih are very essential

Can you advise me the reason for this and what are the remedies for this , I am paitnet of migraine/sinus becuse of that i get headaches for which take combiflam which gives me relief. otherwise my periods are regular and heavy flow during 1st and 2nd day only . I am always very active but sometimes for above reasons i bbceome very lethargic . I am not taking any medicines for any ailments . Can you explain what are the diets and how I should take .

I Think you need to get your hemoglobin and thyroid profile tested. Once you do that, you can revert back with your reports.
