    Hi
you can make a nice tasty upma with lots of vegetables.Just soak oats and then squeeze the water before adding it to the vegetables instead of rawa.

You can also make pancakes, cutlets, add it to soups.

I roast and powder it and add it to Pilsbury Multi Grain attta to make a porridge. Add elaichi to it . Tastes good and easy to drink.

    Enjoy your oats.

Why not try making Flapjacks they are easy and can be easily modified to your taste by adding nuts and dried fruits or coating it with melted choclate on top.

    FLAPJACKS

    75g of butter or margarine
    50 - 75g light brown sugar
1 tablespoon of golden syrup / honey
    175g of porridge oats

    1. Put the butter or margarine, sugar and golden syrup into a saucepan and stir over a low heat until the fat and sugar have melted.

    2. Add the porridge oats and blend thoroughly.

    3. Press into a well greased 18cm square sandwich tin.

    4. Bake in the centre of a moderate oven at 180c or 350f or gas mark 4 for 25 minutes or until evenly golden brown.

    5. Mark into fingers whilst warm.

    6. Allow to become almost cold in the tin before removing.

    7. Enjoy

    oats dosa
i got this recipe from our IL only n tried , i liked it.

    Ingredients:
    Oats – 3 cups
    Rice – ½ cup
Curd or buttermilk – just enough to cover the oats
    Onions – 1 finely chopped
Green chillies – 2 finely chopped
Coriander leaves – a small bunch chopped finely
    Cooking oil – 3 tbsp
    Salt to taste

    Method:

    1. Soak oats and rice in the buttermilk for about half and grind until it reaches a dosai batter consistency.

    2. Now add salt, finely chopped onions, green chillies, coriander leaves and mix well.

    3. Heat a tawa, pour a lade full of oats dosai batter and spread it. Pour a little oil around the dosai and cover.

    4. Flip the dosai after one or two minute. It takes a little longer to cook. Cook the other side. Do not cover after turning the dosai.

    5. Remove from the tawa. Serve hot with any chutney.

Try Chitra Mam's oats recipes. They taste yummy.

I liked the Oats dosa and Oats chakkara pongal (sweet kesari)

Another one that I make. Make oats porridge using water as usual and cool it.
Grind grated carrots, almonds and cashews to a nice paste. Grind fine using the reqd. sugar to taste. Mix in the oats and cold milk. Add some elaichi powder and enjoy the cold oaty smoothieeeeeeeeee.
