Beat the Heat
Hai,
Summer has extended to mid-June. To keep the heat away, we should have more of cucumber, pumpkin, oranges, etc. Avoid papayas, and root vegetables. More of kokum juices, etc. Less spicy food, less oily would be ideal.

Re: Beat the Heat
Along with Jaishamagna's tips, follow this also..
The combination of global warming and the El Niño weather phenomenon makes this year hotter than any other year. So your expectations of summer heat will probably be higher than the usual summer.......Smart tips to beat the sweltering heat....
Eat right
1...Reduce the intake of fried food and take juicy fruits instead. As we all know a famous quote “An apple a day keeps the doctor away” fruits like grapes, watermelon keeps your body cool and regulate the heat.Do not eat out-side or street cooked foods, try to switch for fresh and green vegetables at least for this summer.
Protect yourself
2...With less covered dresses(preferebly cotton),try to protect your skin... summer heat makes your hair brittle leading to hair damage.... better to take an umbrella to avoid sun-burn....use scarves, wear a cap,use sun-blocks(sunscreens) before stepping out....
3...Basically we tend to expose more of our body to sun especially during summer which results in the loss of water from our body by process of draining (Sweat) and so there is a lack of resistance and energy. So maintaining the body water level is very important.Avoid dehdration by consuming(gulping) plenty of water.Water is the safest liquid to drink during heat emergencies. Avoid beverages containing alcohol or caffeine.
4...Avoid strenuous activity, especially during the sun's peak hours -- 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you must engage in strenuous activity, do it during the coolest part of the day, which is usually in the morning between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m.
Keeping you cool
5..Cool down with repeated cool baths or showers. Never take a shower immediately after becoming overheated -- you may cool down too quickly and become ill, nauseated or dizzy.
6.....Make a special effort to check on your neighbors during a heat wave, especially if they are elderly, have young children, or have special needs
7...Try to avoid outing always, reduce your travels and air condition your house if possible or try to ventilate at most as possible. Summer time usually means increased irritation and heightened tempers be it at home, on the bus or at work.
Smile. Loosen up. And don't let the little things get to you. Try to relax and indulge in your hobbies as often as you can. This will help you de-stress.
Remember, while this extended, hot summer has brought with it various troubles, the rains are not too far away!!!!!!
