Periods Does Not Always Cause Irritability in Women

When a woman gets angry or irritated, people around her wonder, if she has periods or premenstrual symptoms. A recent study suggests that hormonal fluctuations do occur in a woman and can cause emotional disturbances. However, it is not the only reason for her to be off-mood.

The notion of a woman being hysterical during her menstrual time is a preconceived assumption that has been doing the rounds for centuries. People often blame a woman’s reproductive system for fluctuation in the mood. There is no clear medical evidence to prove that premenstrual or menstruation symptoms are a definite cause of stress for women.

A medical expert associated with the study opines that instead of blaming on the hormones, people around her should also include other factors that can disturb her during the periods. Stress, ill health, lack of support and understanding can also cause a woman to get emotionally volatile during her periods.

I too was thinking it is only harmonal changes because i do experience them when having harmonal disturbance.

Regarding premenstrual cramps and memnstrual mood swings.. I am told that a balanced diet can led to smooth menstrual cycles void of pain and also PMS.
