Do any of you know in what interval should we change our toothbrush?. In the past, I have not consciously thought about this and change only when I loose my old brush or when the old brush looks worn out. Is there a regular interval at which we should be replacing our tootbrush?

    Hai akalya
Be sure to change your toothbrush, or toothbrush head (if you're using an electric toothbrush) before the bristles become splayed and frayed. Not only are old toothbrushes ineffective, but they may harbor harmful bacteria that can cause infection such as gingivitis and periodontitis. Toothbrushes should be changed every three to four months. Sick people should change their toothbrush at the beginning of an illness and after they feel better Hope is help

    Dear Akalya,

I had recently visited the dentist for tooth removal. He suggested changing toothbrush atleast every 2 months, and not to use more than that.

    Regards

When the bristles start looking frayed, its time to discard your toothbrush.
Usually this happens in 1-1/2 months if u brush regularly day & night.
Too soft a toothbrush is also not advisible.

Many toothbrushes today have a part of them that changes color as it is used (eg. Oral B). If you are uncertain, that is the way to go. Personally, I toss mine when the bristles start to fray.
