My friend had similar problem and even I, but my problem was I got this in sleep and it was due to bad blood circulation I heard. But, to my friend her doctor gave magnesium tablets for that and she was alright after that. Try talking to your doctor.

    Jecintha,
Knee pain is a common symptom. What my gynacologist told was,as we gain more weight, knees bear it and it hurts. After delivery it will subside.
Do express this concern in your next check-up to rule out any othre problems.

From webmd website, hope it helps...

Leg cramps affect almost half of all pregnant women.1 The cause of leg cramps during pregnancy is not fully known, but they may be caused by reduced levels of calcium in the blood or increased levels of phosphorus. Leg cramps are more common in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy and happen most often at night.
There is no evidence proving that increasing your intake of calcium or potassium will prevent leg cramps.1
If you get a leg cramp:
    • Straighten your leg.
    • Flex your foot so that your ankle and toes point up (toward your head).
    • Massage your calf.
    • Walk around to stretch your calf.
    • Avoid pointing your toes when you stretch your legs.

Pregnancy does funny things to your joints and ligaments. Part of it is due to the weight gain and body adapting to the new weight and change in posture, another reason is also due to the hormonal changes causing a relaxiing of ligaments.

I would consult an orthopedist just to be sure, but most likely he will just advise rest and simple exercises.

I had all sorts or joint pain including hip pain, knee pain and ankle pain during pregnancies. Good news is that they go away after the delivery (maybe not right after but eventually they go away:))
