Acidity

* The powder of ehiretta taken with an equal quantity of sugar relieves acidity.

* Chew a few holy basil (tulsi ) leaves to get relief from burning, nausea and gas.

* Small pieces of onion taken with half set sweet curds and sugar relieves burning of the throat due to acidity.

* Keep a small piece of jaggery (gur) in your mouth and slowly suck it. Repeat it every hour till acidity subsides.

* The juice of pumpkin in doses of 60 to 120 gm oz taken with sugar relieves acidity.

* Eat a few almonds when your feel heartburn symptoms.

* Drink coconut water 4-5 times a day.

* Drink a glass of cold milk for fast relief of heartburn and acidity.

* Keep a small piece of harad (Terminalia chebula) in your mouth and chew it after every meal.

* Take one piece of clove and suck on it slowly.

* Drink fresh mint juice slowly after meals.

* Maintaining an upright posture for some time after food will help in preventing reflex.

* Sleep with your head and shoulder on a high pillow for elevation.

* Intake of raw garlic is very beneficial.

Take a mixture of 2 tsp of natural apple cider vinegar and 2 tsp raw honey in a glass of water before meals to prevent acidity or heartburn.

Hi ,
In always have acidity only in the early morning, especially when i brush my teeth, i have that vomiting feeling, but i will bne alright after some time, do u have any suggestions for this

Hi manas,

triphala powder is made of three herbs i.e kadukkai, nellikai and thandrikai and is available in all nattu marundu kadai. it is a general health tonic which relieves constipation also. it is good and effective. try this and see!!!

Hi,

You may have Gastroesophogeal reflux disease, commonly called GERD. Try changing your diet to bland foods for a week or two, cut out spicy and greasy foods for awhile, drink more milk, stay away from acidic foods such as orange juice. Try sleeping on several pillows so your throat is not below the level of your diaphragm at night. If you are heavy, losing weight can make a huge difference. Try these things for a few weeks and it should clear up. Really increase your fluid intake and dont eat within an hour or two of going to bed.

u can also try madhulai manapagu, a general tonic made of pomegranate.. It is easily available in all ayurvedic medical shops.... It is really very useful...

hi there ...saw your post today....your system is throwing up acid.....it may affect the enamel of your teeth. i too had the same problem and it affected my teeth.

you seem to have GERD - i think it is called Gastric Eusophagus Reflux Disease.

i was told to have a lemon shot.....which is the juice of a lemon ....with an equal part of water. This was advocated by a well know Nutritionist named Anju Venkat. you can google her. i know it may sound strange because the juice of lemon is acidic. however the theory is that acid in the stomach turn neutral.
