Monsoons are approaching… it's time to begin cold, cough and flu preventive measures & pre-monsoon healthcare

"This is the season of flu and of cold
when coughs are common and sneezes ten-fold..."

Did you know? The germs that cause colds are contagious. To prevent infections, keep your distance from people with colds. You can protect others, by covering your mouth and nose with a disposable tissue rather than your hands, when sneezing or coughing.

What is your preventive healthcare for monsoon?

    Mimur9 said it all.

    To add with,

1.Have hot pepper rasam along with your food.Al the items-pepper,jheera,garlic,curry leaves, mustard ,turmeric are known for their immunity boosting power.

2.Daily when you take bath, add 5 to 6 drops of eucalyptus oil in the hot bathing water(last few cups). This keeps the virus away from you.

3.Ginger tea is very good in loosening the mucus.

4.Once in a while, when you have symptoms of cold, immediately go for steam inhalation with a small amount of vicks added to the water.

5.Kids are the most affected ones in this season.Honey given along with hot milk (and pepper, turmeric,if they like it) boosts immunity.

    Hi,
Just adding to the above tips....
When a kid has cold, the best wasy to get rid of it soon is:
    1. Take some coconut oil and mix camphor (karpooram) in it
    2. Heat it to a bearable temperature
    3. Apply it on the child's chest and back and rub it well, for atleast 5 mins
    4. Apply vicks vaporub in the bear feet and put a socks at night

The above steps will prevent any cold clogging in the chest and will melt it.
Use a chid suction to remove it from nose.

    Hope this helps.
