Suggest good doctors in Chennai for treating High Uric Acid problem

    A close family friend has high 'uric acid' and had very severe pain in the foot last week. They are travelling to India on a 3 weeks trip and would want to know if there are 'specialists' in Chennai whom they can visit during the trip for treatment. Since I do not know much about the problem, I thought of asking members here at IL if they know of doctors in Chennai who can cure high 'uric acid' problem.

    Hi,
    This is a condition called GOUT..it is caused due to high uric acid in our system..
    best prevention is by diet..cut down on protien intake ..channa..beans..all sorts of beans variety and cauliflower,cabbage..etc..all dals..etc..usually doctors will give a pill or an injection to reduce the pain and then advice to drink lots of water to flush out the uric acid..I'm sorry ..I don't know of any doctors in Chennai ..hope this is of some use..
