HE - Episode 12

Dear Sridhar,

Sorry for the late FB. Saw the episode on Friday night itself but could not just go thru due to high fever and headache. Today also the position is same, but could not rest till I read it fully.

Slowly assimilating what has been written. Still in a shock for dear Maddy & Priya though destiny is siding the good the damage caused already is too much. The estrangement between both is upsetting.

Priya saw Madhavan’s face. He did not look like a loving husband but a concerned parent now. Priya was moved by his act of kindness. How could this kind soul have plotted against her, or for that matter, against any other human being?

How this loving man could ever think of having an affair and that too with a middle aged woman? Could she ask him on his face about all those things? But then she remembered the Vulture’s words. The Vulture had said that during lucid intervals manic depressives would be exceedingly kind.

How when a person is sick, the husband is so concerned and looks like a parent is so applicable, now my dh is looking after me the same way.

“Please Priya, please understand me. Even if I lose all the clients, even if I lose Ad <?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = ST1 /><ST1:COUNTRY-REGION><ST1:PLACE>India</ST1:PLACE></ST1:COUNTRY-REGION> and every thing I have, I am still a winner so long as you are with me. So let’s get the whole thing finished early and put it behind us, Priya. We have a long, sweet life ahead of us.”

Even these words could not help Priya to verbalise her thoughts and suspicions. I really pity both of them.

He thought that Priya had betrayed him. Priya had let him down in a very cruel way. He had been ready to forego everything – his career, his company, his wealth everything – for Priya.

Now with Priya betraying him, he lost all interest to live. He ceased to struggle. And saw Priya for one last time with his penetrating eyes.

His eyes were pleading with her.

“My dearest, what crime did I do other than loving you with all my heart? I did not listen to the lawyer who warned me against you. When you told me that you were depressed, I melted.

“I forgot all the warnings, threw caution to the winds and just came along with you. And now dear, see where I am? Will I be able to love another person in my life? Does this make you happy? Then enjoy yourself dear. Good bye.”

These words were not spoken but communicated. The communication channels did not involve Madhavan’s mouth or Priya’s ears.

Fifteen seconds of that penetrating look was enough to unsettle Priya’s mind for ever. She lost her mind then and there. The look of shock never left her face thereafter.

This was the crowning glory to the whole episode...too much for words to express themselves. I just feel there are no words to describe this passage. I just can say to you sridhar.

Dear Jaya,
I was really thinking hard on how to pen the screenplay and dialogues for this episode. I knew it had to be a little sad and I wanted to add something to compensate for the sadness. I did two things. One was Destiny's role in the side of goodness. And the second was the love Madhavan had for Priya even at that stage.

I did not plan the scenes as I usually do. I just went on writing and then only organized the scenes in order.

Nothing gives greater pleasure for the writer than his readers appreciating those lines which he himself loved to write.

<O:P>I am now in Chennai. Day before yesterday I met my client who is also my friend. After our dinner at Taj we were driving back home. It was a ten minutes drive and we did not speak a word. In that silence I could so strongly feel his "friendliness" that I could almost touch it.</O:P>

<O:P>Frankly,when people make movies or write stories and give a tragedy ending ....we carry the sorrow with us after watching the movie or reading the book!! I, carry the impact of that sorrow for atleast a week!! I will feel very down and upset!! </O:P>
<O:P>But when we read/watch a movie which gives a happy ending,or atleast make us feel that something good has happened amidst the sorrows , we can feel the happiness which ofcourse is what everyone wants to feel.</O:P>

Dear Sudha,
Since I had to leave for Chennai by the night train on Friday, I posted the episode in the afternoon itself.
Destiny which always sides the good has now started showing its true colours. The scene in the Doctor's office is very important for the story. I had to pack all the emotions in it.
For Priya, it was the combination of shock, disbelief and guilt. And to cap it all, she could not bear Madhavan's love. That unsettled her mind.
There is a subtle point to be noted here. Religious preachers always warn us that it is impossible to bear God's wrath. I have never accepted that kind of bullshit. But I have understood this. It is very difficult to bear God's love. When we start feeling God's love, when we begin to realise a billionth part of her selfless love, we are so overwhelmed, that mental balance is at times disturbed.
Madhavan's love was a trace of Her love and that was the reason Priya lost her mind.

But anxious to know the turning point!

My anxiety is no less, Sudha.

Lot of action , feels as if watching a movie.

Madhavan is brave, no doubt. But any reasonable human being trapped in a situation like that will definitely become brave. You can call that as a basic human quality. Or Destiny's tendency to help people in distress.
The story is now heading towards a complex finale. I am trying to organise my thoughts. Of course I had prepared a basic storyline. But I have made so many changes in it.
As of now, I am not sure whether I would be carrying the story for another 6 episodes or finish it in the next, two or three.
Next week end (as of today, this weekend) we are to see some significant developments in Time-line B.

I read and raced through the 9parts of this episode. You are becoming increasingly miserly Varalotti saar!

Believe me, Kamla, I am not being sarcastic. You know my average episode-length is about 2000-2500 words. This episode and the previous one were especially long - some 3300 words. More than a third longer than the usual length. And you said with your unique gracefulness, that "you are becoming increasingly miserly". Which only means my XXXL size episode appears short to you. Which means you found it really racy. Thanks a ton for the kind compliment.

What then, what happens, will Priya realize her mistake, will Madhavan still love her, what, what what???? All the questions still remain, can't wait for the answer..

The answers will emerge soon. You need to do only two things. One is to just wait for the Saturdays. And second is to pray to God that varalotti be blessed with the strength to deliver the future episodes to your satisfaction and to that of all the ILites.

Ok, let me make a slight concession, in case I sound very harsh on you.......Your character, the Destiny, is showing more facets. And I like its role this time. Only because of Mr/Ms Destiny, I am somewhat appeased. I seem to get the vibes that all will go well....unless I am very badly mistaken!

You don't sound harsh at all, Kamla. I know you are incapable of that. Just retain those good vibes. You may need them when you read about the developments in Time-line B.

Thanks for the response. What you said is very true.When in distress,its like all your senses are working extra and you find a solution.The most admirable characters in this series is Madhavan and Sethu.Maybe Madhavan a little more because of his strong love for Priya.I sincerely hope he does get back with Priya and foils an attempt by the vulture. The vulture has to lose at last and why not this be the last.

Well, a person of Madhavan’s position could be deceived so easily by mistaking a famous psychiatrist’s place? – this is difficult for me to digest. :confused:

Unlike the other Doctors psychiatrists are not that well known and popular. My friend Dr.CRS in Madurai is a famous psychiatrist. We were in a big corporate dinner a few years ago. He told me that there were a dozen of his former patients in the dinner. He did not point out. And he told me that they also would not recognize him wantonly. Second, the Vulture had set up an actual Doctor's clinic. So there was nothing to raise Madhavan's suspicion. Third, it was Priya who had fixed up the appointment, as she told Madhavan earlier. Madhavan was just asked to come along. So he might have thought that his wife should have fixed up the right person and would have not bothered to check the credentials. And nobody would like to ask references about a psychiatrist, unless it is absolutely necessary to do so.

Thank God, sorry, thank Destiny ! VR is granting you permission to move over to goodness.
Do some good to Priya & Madhavan before he changes his mind !

I am not that big a man to grant permission to Destiny. I am just letting it play its part, the part ordained for it by Almighty God. But Destiny being Destiny, I cannot give any guarantee as to its doing good to Priya and Madhavan. When they take the first step it will lend a helping hand.

The last part is too racy !

Thanks, Varloo for the nice words. It's not only couples, but friends, partners, colleagues etc. do not talk things within themselves. The main block is ego. And because even a loving person has a big ego, they let some third persons come in between and spoil the love. Another reason is fear. Which was what Priya had. The Vultur is a Master in judging human emotions. He found out that only two factors - greed and fear - can move people to do things the way he wanted. When he advised on take-overs he used greed. And later to make Priya suspect about Madhavan he used fear.
I was just wondering why a divine person, a God like Rama should allow a dhobi's remarks to come between him and his wife?

You have made use of the latest news in these episodes, kidney theft and also Gandhi Nagar Third Main Road (that's where the last ILiite Meet happened). You manage to bring some of our own things into the episodes.

I used Gandhinagar III Main Road because it is a very calm area. I did not know that an ILites meeting happened there. If I had, I would not have used it. As it is the place of a fake psychiatrist's hospital. ha ha ha.

Now. which time line next?

Are u going to continue one more week with the same time line or switchover to the other one?

Now in addition to the inherent suspense in the story, there will be an added thrill. Will it be A or B? Well, as of now, I don't know.
