Malspie,

Should we add the beetroot juice instead of coffee/tea decoction?? Should this mix also be kept in an iron vessel? Thanks!

Regards,
Priya

I went through all the tips for applying henna. Thank you all for the wonderful suggestions. Will beetroot give a burgundy colour to the hair?

I’ll tell you the best way to do this if you want to colour your hair

Take a iron vessel.Mix together 1 cup henna powder ,juice of 1 lime, 1 egg, 4 tsp dahi, 1 cup decoction of tea and coffee brewed separately.

Use a ladle to mix well and leave no lumps. It should be of slow-pouring consistency.Add warm water if its too thick. Cover and leave for 3-4 hours. The henna will change colour and become a dark brown.

Apply it evenly and wash off after 2 hrs without using shampoo..Apply any oil immediately.Leave oil overnight and shampoo + condition next day.

Remember to condition even if you have oily hair since henna makes hair slightly dry.

Regards,
Meeta

to get black color you can try to put the gooseberry powder (amla powder) in the henna mix soak it for 1or 2 hours and then apply...however I would suggest you got to make this amla powder at home..buy indiangoose berries cut them into pieces dry them in sun and grind them...my mom use to put 1 or 2 spoons of this powder in the warm coconut oil and leave it for few days and use this oil whenever you massage your hair with oil..this is also one good way of getting your hair dark and good conditioning...

Hi Cindyboo,

mix Henna with indigofera tinctoria (less henna more indigofera) this last plant give a dark color with blue shine.
If you want realli dark use only Indigofera tinctoria, and apply as henna.

let me now if you like it!!!!

I have used jamila & dulhan henna with good results. I mix it with hot( not boiling) chamomile tea & leave it for couple of hours for dye release & apply it for 4-8 hrs.
