She has called this a 'dictionary', meaning, a reference point for bridal hair styles and she is so right. I don't think that I have seen so many ornamental 'poo jadais' (plaits deocrated with flowers) till now. You mention having spent months researching for them and collecting various images to share here. I can imagine how time involving this must be. But the end result is truly rewarding.

Going through this thread makes one feel festive, pretty, beautiful and proud of our rich cultures. And all these thoughts are accampanied by the tinkiling sounds of jhumkas, bells and the lovely and intoxicating aromas of the flowers!

Thanks for this treat. I will check the thread for further additions. Don't want to miss out on them.

Personally, I feel the ones with temple jewelery look more appealing & rich. Also lighter than the poo jadai

When I saw this I got reminded of my wedding day ....I shopped all over the place to get the temple jewelery set for my long hair ...hahahah that was super fun days!!!

Our traditional style always gains attention and appreciation.Even I had worn traditional one for my looooooooooooooong hair.and some jasmine and red roses in between.It had a very rich expression.

For Bengali tradition, it is mostly buns, - with different variants of designs and decorated with flowers or ornaments. And the stupid parlour-girls, who can not manage long hair, cut it short (now a days) even for making buns - they did that for me, without my permission :rant:rant:rant... For the special wedding package,i have visited a nearby reputed parlour.When she gave tips for my hair style,she insisted to have a trim edge for my long hair.I said NO as already had the bad experience of shortening the length while making a straight line for my friend's sis.And still I remember how she cried.:hide::rant:rant

So I had this opportunity of wearing the alangaram for my long lustrous hair.And its my elder sis who did the hair-do for me.And the make-up was done by our tenant(north-indian)
No make up artist from the parlour.

Hi,
I just casually registered on ur site to check out jadai alankarams as i thought where i am going to get anything like that which normally can be seen in our wedding albums only.But u simply blew me off my seat with ur collections. i was looking for my cousins wedding due in nov this year.u have definetely made my job easier. will get u a photo of ours when the wedding is over which will help someone like me later. God bless u for ur trouble.
