Sure Suna, I use cooking olive oil on my hair all the time. Just make sure that it's extra virgin olive oil. I mix it with mayonnaise and egg to do a hot oil pre-treatment before I wash my hair. It leaves my hair soft and shiney. -cindyboo

Hi Sunkan, The egg is protien for your hair. It will make your hair nice and strong and helps prevent breakage. It will also make your hair very soft. Mayonnaise is a great conditioner for dry hair. You would want to make sure that you get mayonnaise and NOT Miracle whip. I'm not sure if these are available in India, but here in the US, they can be found at any market or grocery food store. A good brand of Mayonnaise is named KRAFT. Hair conditioning is a way of giving the hair the nourishment it needs to look good. The hair follicles receive nourishment from the bloodstream, but the hair shafts ceases to receive nourishment by way of external care. Heena and Mayonnaise hair conditioner is good for hair. I normally mix 2 cups of mayo, 1 egg, and 2 teaspoons of extra virgin olive oil and put that on my hair for 2 hours or more. It leaves my hair very silky and soft. Hope this helps, -cindyboo

Hi Suna, I would suggest using the Mayonnaise only if you have extremely dry, brittle hair. I wouldn't recommend usage for oily hair. The mayo can be found at any US Food Market or grocery store. Last edited by cindyboo; 17th May 2007 at 11:35 AM.

Hi Srilu, In the future, try using the egg yolk instead of the egg white. Sometimes I just put the entire egg in my mixture. The egg white is used for protien and the egg yolk (yellow part) is used for conditioning. This conditioner is a great choice for oily hair. Beat one egg yolk. Add one tablespoon of olive oil and beat the mixture again. Coating your hair. Rinse with cool water to avoid cooking the egg. Hope this helps -cindyboo

Hi Srilu, Sure! You can use the entire egg and mix that with the olive oil. I always use the entire egg. Here's a good recipe for longer hair: Mix two whole eggs with four tablespoons of olive oil. Smooth through hair. Wrap head with plastic wrap, and leave in hair for 10 minutes. Rinse well You should get good results! -cindyboo ![]()
