Does rubbing your fingernails together really promote hair growth?

Hello all,

I've read that Swami Ramdev of India believes that rubbing your fingernails back and forth against one another will somehow promote more hairgrowth. Is this true? Has anyone ever tried this? Does it work?

I have heard about it too but I am not sure if it works or not. I never tried it because of my laziness i guess . I must try.

i heard from some elderly people its true but if we do it wrong it will give adverse effects. so if u r planning to do this then follow the exact procedure.

and does anybody know which is the right procedure? I herd it is a great remedy for hair loss and hair greying but the person that told this to me didnt know anything bout the procedure.

i saw ur mail u want correct procedure but i would like to suggest that please dont go on verbal procedures as yogas effect our body in many ways physically as well as chemically. now a days swami ramdev's vcd are available in market u refer that demo or u try to watch on sanskar or astha exactly i dont remember which channels in india i used to watch sometimes. so search now i will also try to find out any site available for that if yes i will let u know.

yes correct. but only rubbing nails is not enough.. try to do the whole pranayama and and do some tips like this . it will do miracles in your life.

I have tried rubbing my fingernail together, and it did result in substantialreduction in hairfall. Not sure about hair growth though.

Lopa, I'm so sorry to hear that. How often did you do it? Are you sure that rubbing your fingernails contributed to your hairfall ?

I rubbed my fingernails for around 5to 10 mins a day. I am pretty sure that it helped in reduction of my hairfall as I didnot try any other remedies, neither I took any medication to prevent hairfall.
