    Dear Siraj,

    Just now I visited this thread......Its really an useful one....when i visit India, definitely I will prepare this powder and bring it alongwith me....I was having long hair, not that much long, little long, but slowly it is reduced and now i have very short hair.....that too after school, I started cutting and not maintained properly...now for my DD, she is having nice fairly lengthy hair....I think I should start using this powder for her hair instead of shampoo....

    thanks for haulting here Raji......using in young age will prevent them from greying hair,hair fall,and other hair problems..if you wish i can prepare that for my dear friend...

    Sorry Anitha.Am not using any oil,if so only pure coconut oil.Can get your doubts cleared by an hair expert.I have heard that Olive oil is good for skin only.

    Wow Yashi, i was so tempted to try this home made shikakai powder after reading ur post, but unfortunately i don't get all these items here in US. I am planning to get them from India next time.

    Will only using ritha(soap nuts) do....? Also u mentioned Dried Amla for grey hairs, Does they make it black ? i do have some white strands in my hair....

    Pls clarify?

    Vaidehi..good that your are intend to use my secrets.you can use reetha along with other items.Using solidly on hair will end in drying hair.Dried Amla using along with give better results.Start using from the onset of grey hair.

    Amla for Grey hair

    OR another tip.Get the pure Amla powder.Make a paste of amla powder in a pure iron vessel(not any other metal).Leave it over night.Next day will see black layer on the top.Stir it.keep for one more day.when it turns almost black apply it like henna.wait for an hour.Wash it.First Have to repeat it every week for a month.then once in 15 days.Continue for 6 months.All your grey hair slowly fade away.Even after that continue to use once in a month.
