hi priya

i would suggest you to get your hair trimmed frequently, that is the only way to grow your hair long, also oil them every week.

take care

Dear Priya,

What Abha said is right. Trim your hair regularly every month atleast to keep the split ends at bay.

When you oil your hair, pay special attention to the ends of your hair. It would be better to apply oil to the hair, massage it well and then comb it. Even then, if the ends look dry apply a little oil to the ends with your fingers and rub it in.

What I do is to tie up my hair after I oil, into a tight bun for half an hour. Then take shampoo bath. When you shampoo, see that you take a little shampoo and rub it in your hands and then bring it down to the ends of your hair, so that the conditioner spreads well to the ends of your hair

Try it out and tell me how it went??

Few considerations need to be made whn u think u have split ends
1.which sort of comb ur using? bcz combs produce static electricity to ur hair
2. Ur scalp condition ? ur hair will split faster because there is not enough lubrication on the hair follicle.
3.usage of heated appliances and hot air dryers for hair drying /crimping /straightening dry and split ur hair
4. Over brushing will cause split ends and exaggerated backcombing will also make the hair split since it is
disturbing the cuticle.
Brushing hair when it is still wet is one of the most important causes for split ends because wet hair stretches by as much as 25%.

5 elastic bands and all sorts of other hair accessories can damage your hair. Avoid using uncovered elastic
bands since these often pull out hair when being removed. Other accessories will damage or weaken the ends of the hair

6.Coloring and perms make hair weak and vulnerable for split ends. This type of hair needs extra care and should be treated with the appropiate products. Use a lot of conditioner and comb your hair through before rinsing it out.
7.Only repair of ur hair can be done u need to cut off ur splits every 6 wks and need to give warm oil massage wht olive oil u can add few essential aroma oils like jojoba oil , wheat germ oil, rosemary oil
8 whn u use henna on ur hair if ur hair is dry oil it massage and then apply henna

9 . Never leave ur hair while travelling open try to cover it
10 dont use harsh shampoos and dont forget to condition ur hair
11. check your diet if ur having a low fat diet try to improve it

i think i better stop orlse u wil start shouting at me now :)
i can go on listing reasons for split ends
tc and have a healthy hair
