Default Hair straightener

Hi friends,
I am looking to buy a good hair straightener. There are several brands like sedu, kiyoseki, conair, revlon, vidal sasson, etc.available in the market...which one is good and takes less time or few strokes to straighten. I am confused about which one to buy. Has anyone tried any of these..friends plz put down your opinions if have used any of these. Also before gliding our hair into straightener, what pre-conditioning products to use --like straightening balm or thermal protectant serum? I really want to try my hand at straightening.

I have one from remington. I use it once a week only. By the way, did you know that you can use straighteners to make curls? Mine straightener came with an instruction dvd. It is really easy to use.

Re. serum et cetera. Go to a drugstore. They have lot of products you can use to protect your hair from the heat of the straightener. (It seems like it changes by the day.) Choose the one which matches your hair type.

Its always good idea to use straightners with ceramic plates. Ceramic plates is safe (or does less damage to your hair)
The cheaper and best option would be revlon. You can get it for 20 dollars from Amazon.
I recently bought Chi flat iron at discounted price from amazon (for $75) the org price is $120. I must say it is too good. They have like 750 odd reviews for this Chi iron on Amazon itself.

Hi friends,
Thank you so much for your comments..how much time does it take to straighten..do you apply any heat protection serum. I have medium length hair.

pswcil,
Even I have been thinking about buying the conair straightener which you mentioned..I read good reviews in amazon..how many passes does it take to straighten one section of hair..does it become out nice in one pass?
I read several good reviews about sedu..but little expensive but worth it I guess..but conair, chi are too tempting!!
Did anyone see the infomercial on Instyler rotating iron for straightening? Has anyone tried it?
Friends, pour in your reviews about hair straighteners!

I use the Vidal Sasoon's godess it is so heavenly on my hair, i can see the difference from using this and my remingtion, it has a healthier look to it and the steam helps reduces the damage to it.
