Do u mean hair softness?
Could u be more clear?

Hair smoothening smoothens hair texture by applying gel and slight heat.that makes rough hair soft and easy to manage.
Hair straightening straightens curly / frizzy hair. This is all I know about the topic.. no idea about the techniques

About Hair Smoothing, all I know is that they help add weight to your hair while preventing frizz. They also add shine and make your hair appear healthier.

But Hair Straightening is different since you use hair straighteners and/or relaxers (chemically straightening hair that lasts for many months), and/or products to heat up the hair to make it silky smooth. But this method can be damaging to hair if you do it regularly so you should be careful.
