| Bangs have been a great way of changing and creating different hairstyles. Rather or not to add bangs to a hairstyle can make a huge difference as some hairstyles look great without bangs or fringes and other hairstyles look lost without the addition of some bangs. Adding Bangs The different types of bangs vary on how the bangs are positioned and their texture. Depending on facial shapes, different bangs may create better looks than others. For example, bangs that are combed straight down right above the brow line are considered straight bangs and are great for softening more prominent facial features like sharper chins and larger forehead areas. Side-swept bangs are great ways to even out round and heart shaped faces as well. These are just a few ways to enhance the look created by hairstyles on facial features. Different bang features can also be combined as well. Side swept or angled bangs can be combined with choppy bangs to match choppy or other hairstyles as well. This allows many different hairstyle additions by playing with different types of bangs. 1. Straight bangs: The hair is combed straight down slightly around the brows. ![]() 2. Parted bangs: Parted either down the middle or off center slightly. ![]() 3. Choppy bangs: Uneven and choppy and add flair to the hairstyle. They are not a full bang, but add visual lines that can help accentuate your facial features. The choppy bang will also require unique placement of hair care products such as gels and mousses ![]() 4. Side swept bangs: - Swept to one side usually in a sleek fashion. These types of bangs work great for heart and oval face shapes. ![]() ![]() 5. Wispy bangs: Slightly sprinkled lightly over the forehead. Wispy bangs are just a hint of bangs. Small strands are added that softly drape across the forehead. This type of bang is great when you don't want to make a commitment to a full bang. Full bangs can take months to grow out if you decide you do not like them, whereas wispy bangs can be hidden with longer hairs using some hair care products. ![]() 6. Blunt bangs: Cut in a blunt manner and come down over the forehead ![]() 7. Wavy bangs: Curled or waved before being swept over the forehead ![]() Hope this helped :D Sere :D Last edited by Serenity_John : 2nd May 2008 at 08:23 PM. Reason: pics |

One accurate way to find out your face shape is to go to a virtual hairstyle place and put your pic in it (full front face with hair pulled back into bun) so you can more accurately know the shape. Hi Priyanathan, I was at first going to suggest relaxing the hair with chemicals at a salon which will give you straight hair for several months. However since you like straight at top w/bangs and bouncy/curly at bottom and your hair is naturally curly, I suggest having your hair medium or long length (so the curls won't form all the way from top to bottom since hair has weight but your ends would be wavy or curly). To get the look you're looking for, I suggest getting layers in your hair with long bangs or side swept bangs that are long enough. So that if one day you don't have time to straighten ur hair or bangs, then u can just curl the bangs and it would look good too. Side swept bangs are very good choice for your face shape but be careful when it comes to maintainence. You would have to straighten them everyday. You can talk to your hair stylist b4 u figure out if you want to have them. Some hair suggestions are: choppy layers with side swept bangs![]() ![]() graduated choppy layers with side swept bangs long layers with side swept hairI hope these pics help you :D Sere PS: got them for google search |
