Suitable Haircut for Mid-Length Hair

Friends,
I Have mid-length hair and usually put it braid or leave free while going to office. One of my colleagues is persuading me to get my hairstyle changed as I am not trendy. So i asked her shall I get U-Cut or V-Cut. But she was asking me to go shorter upto shoulders. Some are saying i can try boy cut or bob cut but in my home they wont allow. Not Sure what to do. Please guide me.

What cut would suit straight mid-length hair with oval face ?

you can go for feather cut with layers. i am sure it will suit you nicely.

Instead, as suggested by Padmaja,go for feather cut with layers,where length will be maintained with stylish look.

Bob cut looks gud only if your hair is very straight and soft. otherwise it wont look good and its so old fashioned. Like everyone suggested go for a step cut or a layer cut or a U cut also looks great.
