| Hey incase if this of any help.. Usually I make henna at home..I buy the henna powder, make a thick paste of it with some warm water, curd, and mustard seeds power, few drops of lemon juice......keep this paste wet for an hour or so and then apply it and wash it off after 30-45 mins..before applying to hair you can mix some egg white also in the paste and then apply it to the hair.. before applying henna if you can slightly massage your hair with warm coconut oil and apply a warm towel over the hair for few times..it helps in cleaning and opening the hair follicles/pores.. while washing the hair on the first day..do not wash your hair with shampoo...just plain wash and then on the second day use mild shampoo and wash the hair.. |

| HI Suni I apply Henna for my family members so a bit of input on the same. First Buy quality henna (Everest is a good brand but if you can get henna from delhi/ jaipur nothing like it). Filter the same so that no lumps are available in the same. Make a decoction of water, tea(2 tbs) and coffee powder (2 Tbs). Boil and let it cool. drain and keep aside. Mix the decoction with the henna and let it stay overnight with a Iron laddle inserted into the mixture. This actually helps with the colour enhancement. Before application add about 2 eggs with yolks into the mixture. If incase you are looking for a Burgandy shade, boil about 2 medium sized beetroots, and make them into a fine paste. Mix this with the henna and let it stay over night. For those with Dry Hair, Add a bit of Methi Powder and an extra egg. (will stink a bit but worth the effort) For Dandruff- add a bit of Curd and lemon to the mehendi mixture. For cooling- make a paste of aloevera, methi, Hibiscus leaves and mix them with the mehendi. Never apply mehendi to oily hair. and never use shampoo on the day of rinsing the mehendi off. Oil your hair the next day, this helps with colour retention and also with conditioning of your hair. Hope this helps... |
