Usage of Hair Straightener!!

Hi All,

I have bought a new hair straightener instrument.. i would like to know if it is advisable to use it once a week.. It would be grateful if someone could advice me on this....

Truely speaking, usuage of hair straightener/blowers will lead to hair fall.
I have not used any of these things.
But have heard from many saying that they had hair loss.
May be others might give your good info on this.

I really dont see any harm in using the instrument once a week .Yes the heat does make the hair dry so after care is very important. I guess youre talking about the straightener that look like tongs. Leave at least 2-3 inches from the roots , when you straighten.

Hi ,

Yes I have used these equipments for crimping and straightening for almost a decade now and havent personally experienced any hairfall due to this.

Well I am using Choba with a ceramic plate.The ceramic plate protects your hair from getting burnt.
Well I use it whenever I need to ,like for a party .Maybe once a month but I have also repeated it on a couple of occasions fortnightly.

i too have a straightner...i used once in a week to go for party and all...so i dnt have any problem.but ofcourse hair gt so dry...so before hair straightning u have to use some heat protection cream to protecct our hair....

I have thick, curly hair and I recently purchased a 'Sedu' straightening iron. It is fantastic and I love it. I use it once a week or once a fortnight and I don't seem to have any adverse effects with it. Just make sure that 1) your hair is dry before using the iron, 2) don't iron close to the hair roots 3) use a heat/thermal protectant cream or gel before using the striaghtener.
