Usage of Hair Straightener!!

thanks for ur reply.. as mentioned, wat care i need to take after using the straightener.. And also as mentioned wat is the best heat protection cream that is to be used before using it....

hi..i bought new conair straightner..it does not have any heating element..with this no problem of dry hair..iam using it now..let me see how it works ...it's not an elestic one just like the hair brush..

I recently bought a Revlon straightning iron with ceramic plates and have used it a few times.Though I do think that my hair has become drier but I havent experienced any hair loss(yet!)

But I dont think even a little hair loss will stop me from using it as I love the look of straight hair on me.I have wavy hair and though I love it too,its too thick for me to let loose and this becomes possible with straight hair.

After reading all the replies,i think now i can go for a hair straightener.Even i love a smooth and straight hair but always wondered that the hair would be damaged with the use of a straightener.. With a bit of care i think i can go for it now.

I have a straight hair.I never used any hair products.I am having medium to short hair. For the first time I want to curl my hair at the tips.If I do it with a straightner how many inches(1" or 2") straightner will it be necessary?how many inches strner r u using & can u post ur further experience with it.Is it easy to handle?

Someone here asked about hair protectants before straightening.I read in a forum that a lady is using Biosilk.hope it helps.

Somebody mentioned that we can use Biosilk.. Wat is it? Is it a cream? Will i get it anywhere?

Hi Rupi,

The instrument you have got is called as Hair Iron; there are few steps you should follow while you use this. Frequent use of this will lead to hair fall, so it’s better to use it occasionally. Alway go for hair iron with ceramic plate.

Step 1 : Apply a styling gel/ cream to damp the hair.
Step 2 : Spray some heat protective spray.
Step 3 : Divide the hair into 4-5 parts and blow dry each part.
Step 4 : Take portions of hair and iron it. Do take care of the temperature of the iron.
Step 5 : Apply shine serum once ironed. This will give glow and smoothness to your hair.

Do apply oil when you wash your hair for the first time after ironing it. Repeat this when ever you iron your hair. Give a hot towel treatment if your hair is very rough. Do use a good conditioner for your hair while washing it.

Note: Please use appropriate gels/ serum/conditioner as per you hair texture.

A little extra care needs to be taken when you iron you hair, to avoid after effect, and hard work always pays you. Ironing your hair will give a gr8 look to your hair.

I have used L'Oréal Professionnel products which we get from L'Oréal Professionnel Salon across the country. They are expensive but worth buying. You can visit a salon and ask for their product based on your hair texture.
