Hi Kavi,

Just saw your post.
You can prepare homemade hair oil with the flowers. Heat 500ml of coconut oil. When it is hot and smoking, add hibiscus flowers, then add fenugreek seeds, curryleaves and some neem leaves too if you can get that. Once it cools pour it in a glass bottle and leave aside for a couple of weeks. Then filter it and start using it. It is good for promoting hair growth.

Hibiscus leaves are a great conditioner and gives smoothness and lusture to hair. Just make a paste of hibiscus leaves with water. You can use is after shampooing, or just mix with shikkakai paste and apply on your hair.

Regards

hello.
you can certainly use adukku Sembaruthi flower for your hair. it is as good as the five petal ones.
i don't know if you are aware of it, but the company Raaga has come up with a shampoo called chemparathi which is supposed to be all natural, made from chembarathi flowers and leaves. i tried it out myself and am very satisfied. it has a pleasant natural smell too.

Hi Uma,

Sembaruthi leaves paste before bath is a good option. But Hibiscus has cooling effect and so don't keep it for too long. It might cause cold etc.
In summer it is okay to soak in it for a while but in other seasons, either apply it just for 5-10 minutes before bath or mix it with shikakai or use it for a couple of minutes after shampooing.

Regards,
Nandhitha

hibiscus flowers act as natrural conditionar at the same time it gives colour to the hair. Make a paste of teh flowers and leaves apply to the hair before bath just like we apply henna. after 3omin wash ur hair and use ur regular shampoo. But keep ur hand safe with gloves.as this mixture balckens ur hands. it is a very gud ayurvedic treatment for white / grey hair.
All the best...
