Hi, will the henna in this mixture change the colour of your hair? Also, will instant coffee be OK and by "curd" do you mean ordinary yoghurt? Last edited by Induslady : 24th May 2006 at 05:56 PM.

Hello kennyliza, Welcome to IndusLadies. Hope you will find this community informative, sharing and fun! You can try using black henna. This does not change color of your hair, provided it is already black. If you are using on grey hair, you will see color change to light brown. Yes, you can use instant cofee powder and 'curd' is plain yoghurt. Good Luck! Love, Rathi

I have dark brown hair which is greying slightly, and I like to use henna to colour grey. But I find that the colour it gives is too orange. Is there any different brand of henna to try, which will give a good rich BROWN colour, not orange? Or is there anything I can add to the henna to make the colour brown instead of orange? I am grateful for any advice. thanks. Liza

required amount of henna for ur hair... add some coffee decoction... one egg for conditioning.. grind a little methi soaked in the night along.....and add... now after mixing keep it in a iron pot or keep a iron ladle inside.. the rajasthani ones r very deep red and damn good colour.... u need to apply at least twice a month to get the effect....never shampoo on the day u have applied just wash it....lots of sticky things to be removed so need plenty of water in the shower..the hair will be very dry dont worry.......then next day shampoo this in the normal manner...u will retain the colour try using mild shampoo....and oil it once it has dried....i do this for my daughter at home ..though the henna is from rajasthan....is a dream to have...so deep is the colour.....regards sunkan...

Hello Sunkan, Your tips are really good. Tell me if applying henna to hair will lead to loss of hair if discontinued. Also, should we Oil our hair before shampooing the next day. Thanks Meenu
