| Hi all, Am getting married to person working at Arizona ,US. I got my H4 visa interview by next month. Can anybody give links that give sample questions that help me to prepare & also request you to share your interview experiances & things NOT TO DO AT THE TIME OF INTERVIEW. |

| Dear Manjula & Vaidehi, I took the H4 interview a year ago at the American Consulate, Chennai. I'm not aware of any sample questions/links provided in this regard. The questions asked depend entirely on the officer interviewing & everybody's experience is different. I would suggest you both to keep all your documents in order & ask your respective husband's to explain to u what each document is about. Also make sure to keep the originals & photocopies of all the documents. As far as i remember, the foll. documents are very important.... Application, HDFC receipt, passport, copies of passport, letter from husband's employer, husband's W2 & bank statement, I-129 (if applicable), small album of marriage photos, marriage registration certificate, etc. Other than that, be cool.......read the do's & dont's mentioned in the application & the consulate site & very imp......'answer to the point' when asked any question. All the best for the interview. Cheers! Ragini.

| Hey manjulasoundar/vaidehi the Visa Officer checks all the following docs: 1. company offer letter 2. paystubs 3. I-797 --H1 B approval notice (if ur hubby is on H1 in US) 4.LCA 5. W-2 forms (related to tax) 6. Bank statements 7. Marriage certificate and Pictures if all the above documents are correct they will not ask u any questions and issue a visa if at all they ask u any questions please answer them confidently and dont feel tense. according to my experience, they juss checked all the docs and asked me where ur hubby is working, when did u get married and then issued a visa hope it helps all the best cheers sreelatha |

| Hey Manjula and Vaidehi Well our experience members have given you the details of the documents and a lot of other things... regarding the Order of the Documents... It will definitely be re-arranged at the counter before the interview... I wud just like to add, that officer mite ask you about the employer of your husband, Client name with which he wud be working in US... he mite also ask you Date of you marriage, the Venue of marriage... Basically it all depends on the name of your husband's employer... once they hear that name that is when the series of questions start... in my case my husband's company comes under the BEP (busienss enterprise plan)... and those names are trusted and renowned, so they dont bother to ask much questions... its not much of a big deal as many people make it out to be... i was really cool even before the PA.. ~Abha |

| Well, i realised i hadn't mentioned my personal experience at the interview! I was just asked the date of marriage, how long my husband has been in the U.S & to show my husband's W2, when i said that i got married the previous day, the officer was surprised & laughed! He wanted to know if my husband was waiting outside for me!! That's it....i was granted the visa! Like i said earlier, everybody's experience is different. I wasn't asked abt my husband's employer, i assume (i may be wrong) that's b'coz, it's mentioned in the documents file given to them & also appears on their system. Like Abha says, it's not a big deal at all......it'll be over in a breeze!! Ragini.

| hello all ! I m just deviating from the topic of h4,but feel is still related to a certain extent. As mentioned we will be moving down to US , my husband is on h1-b visa and the same has been alloted thru a consultant in US. My doubt is, as per our consultant my husband has to look out for a client in US on his own, so i m little worried? can anyone help me out with the situation regarding the job market in US? As far our knowledge goes my husband has a very good profile , it shouldn't be much of a problem to find a job,but still curious to know ,normally how much time does it take for all this to take place? Ilites hvg gone thru such exp can help me in this regard! cheers vaidehi |
