i know,the various types of fishes we have in india..
but here in US, what kind of fish ,should i look for and that is good for fish curry..
please suggest me the name.
do they have one that is already cleaned..

King fish is also known as King Mackerel.. here we call it king fish only...hope this helps you in finding it...Salmon is a really oily fish, I don't know how it would taste in a curry.. you can also use catfish..it has a good taste too..

I usually use Tuna, King Fish, Shrimp for making fish curry (tastes yummy:)
Squid for making thoran/poriyal and
Catfish , tilapia(rarely ), Mackarel for fish fry
Most people use salmon as well for curry and fry - some how my tastebuds are bit reluctant to accept them
Oh Boy! am craving to eat some good meen curry now:)
In supermarkets like Shoprite, A &P - You can check in the frozen as well as fresh fish section
If you wanna eat fresh fish(like the way we get in india) ,find out whether there are any chinese fish market in your area and go for that , they'll usually clean it upon request.I have seen frozen fish in indian grocery stores and pakistani halal stores as well.
