Effective May 26, 2015, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is extending eligibility for employment authorization to certain H-4 dependent spouses of H-1B nonimmigrants who are seeking employment-based lawful permanent resident (LPR) status.
After a very long gap in employment are we ladies excited and ready to grab this opportunity. How will you be preparing yourself for the interviews .

I am so excited to hear this news. Thinking to put my younger son in full day school so that I will get some time to do part time work. I am looking to work in schools, banks, .. basically clerical or admin. I am not a professional but can work in these environments I think. Its not going to be very easy. Thanks for this thread.

    Hi all,

Thanks for this thread. Even I am looking for jobs. I am not professionally qualified. Looking to work part time or work from home. I am kind of confused, doesn't like to travel too far to work. I have been living in states for almost 10 yrs on dependent visa.

    I have few questions.

    1. Are u planning to apply EAD by yourself or with attorney's help?

    2. How soon, can we get the work permit to work?

Which field are u guy's planning to work? I am thinking about 'substiute teacher', day care. Interested even in doing' short term' or online courses for job. Don't know where to start. Kind of confused.

Friend's, post your inputs & plans. So we all can discuss & benefit.

    Thanks
    SSasi
