h1 receipts 2009

I applied for h1 2009,and till now i did not recieve the
receipt.do anyone recieved the reciept,or know any
details regarding that?please update.

I have also applied and waiting for the results.But many of my friends have got the lottery.If u r cheque is encashed..then u r thru.It may take time for the actual number to come.

I disagree.. It means your case is received by the dept in the correct timeframe.. doesnt guarantee a h1b thou ;)

My SIL also applied and in the same position, pls update when you get it.

If the cheque has been encashed that means you were selected in the lottery. It will take some time to get the receipt number with which you can check the status of your application on the USCIS website.
Between, I made it in the lottery, got to know about it on 7th May, cheque was encashed, now waiting for receipt number

Once received by USCIS, the petition can take many months to be processed, and unexpected delays can occur. Usually it might take 6 months. The reason I said that one cannot guarantee a h1b just by the Receipt date is because, once the file is received, validation takes place in USCIS.. if they need some additional infor, they might send out queries to the employer and they shud provide that within the time specified. Even after all the information, USCIS has all rights to reject the application.
