Default H1B Visa is Possible?

hi

I have just 1.6 years experience as a software engineer. Now i am in H4 visa. Can i try for H1B to work in the near future? Is there any possiblity to get job in US with this experience and a break of 2 years?

Please pour in your ideas?

Anything is possible ;)

Ok seriously.. yes it is possible to get a job for yourself.. if you can explain the break and still be marketable with the latest techs.

break is usually not an issue... as long as you are confident with your talent and make sure that you can grab a project once you are out in the market...

2009 quota is gone.. you can apply for 2010.

Hi Ladies,

For those of u who have worked in India no matter how many years it doesn't really matter here. The only advantage would be when applying for a position the interview process is much easier.
For ladies who have come here on H4 and now are planning to move on to H1 Visa it is easy but the H1 cap for this year is already closed.U can apply next year.Usually the filling for H1 is done in March.
The job market as of now is pretty slow.
But in the mean time you can take training from different institutes or from some online courses to learn any technology.
Even i am searching for a job since this January.

@HopeforGood
Dot Net job market is pretty bad right now.
I am trying for a Dot Net job since Jan and till now i have not faced any client interview so far.My friend started looking for a Java job since April and so far she has faced 5 client interviews.

So if u have any questions u can post back on this forum and i would be glad to answer u'r questions with as much as i know.

Hello all

Nice to see your effort towards being occupied and doing something constructive. good luck to all of you...I have seen various ads on sulekha asking for home recruiters where you have to place calls and interview candidates or consultants and place them andif the candidate you spoke to gets placed they will pay you some 2 or 3$ per hour till the time he is in that project...so keep looking for such recruiter ads and the voluntary work always helps us in networking and making contacts...good luck..
