Yes, I think in most states you definitely can. You can start with trying for a learner's permit and then you have a year to practice your driving skills and try out the road test. Of course, the rules are slightly different I think from state to state - some have insurance rules etc. where you must be listed on your car's insurance policy prior to applying for the license. check with your local DMV.
Good Luck!

Yes - you can get a driving licence on H4.
Each state has different rules for getting Driving licence. Go online line and look for the details. In some states in USA - Indian licence is valid for one year -i mean you can drive using your Indain driving licence.

Hi,
Welcome to Bay area. You can start by typing 'voluntary work in bay area' on Google search, on your computer. You will come across 'the volunteer center.net' and many other sites that will help you find voluntary work of your liking. There, under resources for volunteers, you will find helpful hints for volunteers. Read that thoroughly and save your time by making the right choice.
This is how I started looking. And I am not disappointed. I volunteer for the library at the American Conservatory Theater, in San Francisco and in return I get to see all their plays for free! You can always negotiate with them as to how many hours you can put in and which days you prefer to come.
You can also look the other way round. If you can locate a library close to your home, then go check with them, they will always appreciate an extra hand and will find some work for you. If you don't like what they have to offer then be creative and tell them what you would like to do. They may be able to accommodate you. No work is without its rewards, you only need to speak up.
All the best,
Lolly

Anyone worked for American Red cross as a volunteer? What kind of work can we do there? Do we need to go through some volunteer training for that? Please shed some light on how to go about it? Thanks
