Hi,

iam diognised with pcos while iam 13(puberty at 11 and normal for 2 years) and i took birth control pills until 19..after that i asked my doctor to put me on metformin as i came to know abt that medicine thro my friends and now for past 5 years iam taking met...
now my parents are seeking alliance for me....with irregular periods is it good to marry now....and what abt chances of having a baby(iam 23 years now)
and whether i hav to tel that guy abt this periods problem or leave as it is as periods problem is common nowadays....iam very frientened as when i take medicined while going to their house they will scold me....thats wy i keep on poseponing the alliances..but now one best alliance came and i dont know wat to do now whether to marry or to wait for 1 or 2 years....plz help me regarding this...........
My advice to you would be first go and see the doctor. Your health is first important. Once you are over the problem you can start looking for alliances and then no guilt on your part and also healthy person makes a healthy marriage too!
same boat as you. pcos since puberty. irregular periods and taking metformin, I got married despite this and without telling my spouse bec. there is always a medical solution to this problem and I was not too worried. it took us some time to conceive not just bec. of the pcos but bec. we found out only later that he had sperm issues. but we have a 9 month old now.
I would suggest that if you have found the right person go ahead and get married. no need to inform anyone of anything. will a prospective groom inform you if he has spem issues? no right? then why subject yourself to the same?
get married, enjoy some time with yout spouse, get to know him well and then when the time is right seek medical help and you will conceive.
in the meantime, eat healthy, low carb diet and excercise moderately. both will help control your pcos and you may be able to get off metformin like I did. also helps in the weight loss department.
anyways in many cases, periods regularize themselves after marriage.

Hi Pragathi,
May be due to some harmonal imbalances, your periods are not on time. Consult a gynic and get the doubts cleared. As HPT is negative, the chances are very minor.
Me too going through t he same situation...have missed my periods by 12 days...my home pregnancy test turned negative..will wait for a week and go to a gynaec
hi,
had periods this morning but still worried as to what is causing delay every month.i am planning to go to India in july & hence will consult my gynae there.
jes,
i was also having faint pains in lower abdomen but no spotting.ate some roasted ajwain at night.maybe thats what triggered the periods.try it.

HI Vidhu,
I would like to second Pmahensa....
Get married if you found the right person. Try to maintain your weight based on your BMI. Do regular exercises & plan your diet properly. These will surely help in PCOS!
All the best!
