Hi richass,
I did lot of research on the tablet, the vey first day she prescribed it to me. on the first day, I took the tablet with hesitation. Now i'm alright. I've done pharmaceutical chemistry as an elective in my UG. My only worry is that my gyanec didnt open her mouth in my case. But my family doctor told that i may have uterine bleeding. I've to go for yet one more checkup with my gyanec.

And i'm thanking all IL's who have answered my query. You people only boosted me to come out of my problem mentally.

Default Doubts reg. periods

Hi,

I had mild bleeding (kind of brownish discharge) on Mar 5th the whole day and by late night bleeding was regular ( I was expecting my period to start on 5th only). I even experienced cramps and pain in legs which are regular symptoms during my periods.

I joined gym last month after my last cycle and was doing regular workouts..
I was also bit stressed out at work and also have a function to attend at home in coming week and was worried that I shd not have my periods that time bonk

It was quite normal for past 2 days. My doubts -
Is that mild bleeding which I got is what is called spotting? Is this normal or is it because of strenuous work out which I am not used to.. doing it before last month?

Pls help with your replies.

Thnx,
Sahana.

Dear rashmi,

As far as I know, any follicle size >16 mm should be of good quality.

This terminology is generally used in IVF.

today is 10th March and still I am waiting for my periods...

can anybody tell me what is the reason?? should I go for Preg Test again ?? I am very much worried,

some doctors says preg can be detected after 15 days..
if I am pregnant, will primolut n affect my baby??

Hi
If you were expecting periods by 28th & had UPT on 5th by that time it would have been postive if you were pregnant. so relax.

After primalut you have to wait for 3-4 days for periods to stat once the blood level of this falls completely. Even after if it don't start may seek gynec consultaton.
Stress it self may delay the periods.

Hi Nupur! Welcome to IL.

I was going thru the net & read this:

Ask an Expert: Took Primolut-n not knowing that iam pregnant

Another article said this:

Will you please give some information on Primolut? What are effects of primolut on pregnancy?

** It contains norethisterone, the progesterone. It is a hormonal preparation without estrogen. It is indicated in dysfunctional uterine bleeding, relief of primary and secondary amenorrhea, timing of menstruation, endometriosis.
Primolut should not be used in the presence of any of the conditions listed below. Should any of the conditions appear during the use of Primolut, the use of the preparation must be discontinued immediately.
*Known or suspected pregnancy.
*Lactation.
*Active thromboembolic processes or a history thereof.
* Diabetes mellitus with vascular involvement.
*Presence or history of severe hepatic disease, as long as liver function values have not returned to normal.
*Presence or history of liver tumours (benign or malignant).
*Known or suspected sex hormone-dependent malignancies.
*It has been concluded from epidemiological surveys that the use of oral estrogen/progestogen containing ovulation inhibitors is attended by an increased incidence of arterial and venous thromboembolic diseases. Therefore one should keep the possibility of an increased thromboembolic risk in mind, particularly where there is a history of thromboembolic diseases. Generally recognised risk factors for venous thromboembolism include a positive personal or family history (venous thromboembolism in a sibling or a parent at a relatively early age), age, obesity, prolonged immobilization, major surgery or major trauma. The increased risk of thromboembolism in the puerperium must be considered. Treatment should be stopped at once if there are symptoms of an arterial or venous thrombotic event or suspicion thereof.

The drug should not be used when there is a suspicion of pregnancy. It can cause hormonal and developmental defects in the child.

I suggest you go to the Doctor as soon as possible. It'll be easy to conclude you are not pregnant thru' a scan. Or else you could take the pregnancy test again & if negative, again after a few days. But better go to the doc.
