    Hi

I'm 39 and since 16th of this month I'm menstruating. My last period was on 5th May and I was expecting my period to start on 2nd or 3rd June as my periods have never postponed but always start 2 to 5 days earlier than previous date. Also for 1st four days the bleeding was very low and on 5th day I was expecting it to stop but instead the bleeding level was increased which slowly kept going high. As on today I'm still bleeding along with clots. I had similar situation 2 years ago and was diagnosed with cyst through sonography. Doctors prescribed registrone for 20 days after which my periods were normal. So considering that I might have developed cyst again, I got my sonography done again but this time the report was normal. I'm really worried as to what could be the reason.

I will appreciate if someone can share knowledge or experience with such condition.

Divya - There are a lot of reasons for menstrual issues around your age ranging from hormones to stress. What did you doc say was the issue? If it's a one off thing and a pelvic u/s didn't find anything then your doc may check you for anaemia. It could even be stress or a recent change. Do discuss with your gynec and get this sorted out.

    Hi Laks09

Thanks for your response and really sorry for delay in reply.
I was stuck with lot of problems last couple of weeks. I was already under treatment for hair fall since last 8 months. So I shared my problem with my hair specialist and she advised me to stop a medicine which she had prescribed for regulating estrogen level and also meet a gynec. She had also prescribed hematic capsules and a powder for Vitamin D3 which I was taking since last 1&1/2 months. I visited a gynec. She said its most likely a cyst and prescribed registrone for 20 days. I immediately started taking registrone and after 2 days the bleeding stopped but after 5 days it started again. Last week was miserable. I was almost bed ridden with severe pain in abdomen. I eventually stopped taking registrone as it was not working out for me. Finally I decided to meet the doctor again but thank fully on Saturday I stopped bleeding. Feeling better now. But really confused as to what was the cause and how can I prevent it.

You can't presume cyst. As far as I know do not cause heavy menstruation.
Check pelvic ultrasound which should include the endometrial thickness and also to do FBC. When did you have pap smear.
See the gynaecologist and see advice. They might do hysteroscopy if needed.
    Treatment depends on the diagnosis
